TOWN COUNCIL – COMMITTEES
Town Council Board members address issues that are of importance to the community by creating committees in which residents are invited to serve and keeping the community informed on the progress made by the committees.
CURRENTLY ACTIVE COMMITTEES:
Integral Committee.
Committee Chair: Scott Sutherland.
This committee monitors the progress of the proposed Valiano project which straddles the communities of Eden Valley and Harmony Grove.
Next step will be a Recirculated Environmental Impact Report expected out for review in early Fall 2016.
Harmony Grove Meadows Commitee.
Committee Chair: Angelique Hartman.
The project applicant (David Kovach) is currently pursuing a General Plan Amendment to increase the density to 450+ homes (up from 211, which was granted during the last General Plan update, previous was about 25 units). The project has been historically referenced as “Tesla” and “Harmony Grove Meadows" and is currently being processed under "Harmony Grove Village South". Harmony Grove Village Committee.
Committee Chair: Jon Dummer.
This committee monitors the build out of the approved Harmony Grove Village development and liaises with the developer on community matters. Project details can be found at http://www.sandiegocounty.gov/pds/advance/specificplans/Harmony_Grove_Village_Specific_Plan.pdf.
Communications Committee.
Committee Chair: JP Theberge. This committee is responsible for managing the various communications vehicles: the Chaparral newsletter, the facebook page, the website as well as ongoing PR Work as needed.
Traffic Committee.
Committee Chair: Scott Sutherland.
Fourth of July Committee.
Committee Chair: Teri Bair.
This committee is responsible for the organization and planning of the annual Fourth of July Parade and Picnic.
Trails Committee.
Committee Chair: David Stainton.
This committee is responsible for planning of and implementation of trail maintenance and the
creation of new trails within our community. The committee also raises funds to help achieve these objectives.
Welcome Committee.
Committee Chair: Teri Bair.
This committee is responsible for welcoming new residents to the area.
A committee member will visit a new resident and provide a welcome basket with useful information.
All new residents are welcome to approach the Committee Chair with any questions about the community.
Keeping' it Rural.
Committee Chairs: Jacqueline Arsivaud Benjamin and JP Theberge.
Race Directors: JP Theberge and Dave Stainton.
This committee organizes the 5K10K Race and Festival.
Conservation Committee.
Committee Chair: JP Theberge.
The purpose of this committee is to monitor and coordinate efforts to preserve sensitive habitat within our community.
Trading Post Committee.
Committee Chair: Scott Sutherland.
The purpose of this committee is to organize periodic Trading Posts/Farmers Markets for our community.
